Palancar reef is a wonderful place; it is a long reef cut into different sections like the Palancar Horseshoe, Palancar Garden, and Palancar cave.
The reef formation is very specific. You can observe a fair bit if the visibility is good and you are some distance from the wall, which is a giant tower formed by limestone dissolution.
You can see an amazing swim trough decorated by big sea fans and tubular sponges, the colors contrasting from the shallow to the deep.
Once you pass the edge of the platform as you swim, you exit on a deep point and fall along the wall where the view is astonishing!! There are lots of species of fish, lobster, turtles, and during the winter season (November to February), a big chance to see eagle rays.
